Multi Level Marketing Statistics Show Industry in Sustained Positive Growth

Multi Level Marketing Statistics

Are you thinking of building a network marketing business, but have some doubts about the growth and business potential of the network marketing industry?  Good for you for doing your due diligence.  Network marketing coach Amy Posner says, “The network marketing industry is the industry everyone loves to hate.”  Yet, multi level marketing statistics suggest the industry is moving in a very positive direction.  In fact, there is a good argument to be made that the industry is actually in a ‘hyper growth stage.’  Typically a good time to get involved.

The multi level marketing statistics according to the experts

A great place to begin your search for information about network marketing are the various industry associations. The Direct Sellers Association is a predominate industry national trade association.  They boast more than 200 members and many of those members are well known industry names.

At the writing of this article the The Direct Selling Association (DSA) released the results of its Annual Growth & Outlook Survey.  It shows U.S. direct sales totaled $29.87 billion in 2011.  That is a 4.6 percent year-over-year increase from $28.56 billion in 2010.  But the really interesting fact about this multi level statistic is that direct selling market outpaced the gross domestic product (GDP) by 0.7 percent.

According to the DSA there are around 56 million people in the entire world engaged in the network marketing industry.  That number didn’t mean much to me until I thought about it this way, 56 million people is about the population of the whole country of Canada — doubled.

The DSA website also says, “Nearly half of U.S. direct selling companies experienced sales growth and another 14 percent remained flat.”  But here is a very interesting multi level statistic, “Smaller direct selling companies (those with annual retail sales under $3 million) fared best with 66.7 percent showing growth and an average retail sales increase of about 30 percent.  All this when the country, the world, is going through one of the worst recessions in history!

And it is not happening just in the U.S.  There are countries all over the world engaged in multi level marketing businesses.  There are people all over the world engaged in network marketing.  About 56 million people…  It would seem the numbers, i.e., the multi level statistics, speak for themselves:  The direct sales, multi level marketing or network marketing (however you refer to it) is thriving.

Perhaps the most convincing multi level marketing statistic is that the network marketing industry has grown by ninety percent during the last ten years.  There are very few global industries that have enjoyed the same growth over the same period of time.  Why?  There are a growing number of people who are tired of working within the confines of corporate culture.  They want more control in their lives.  They want more money in lives.  Network marketing offers exactly this.

If you are researching the network marketing industry, pay attention to the multi level statistics.  Often numbers tell the story.  But they don’t tell the whole story.  They don’t tell you who makes the money or how they made it.  And the HOW is really important.  Be ready to bring your focus and do the work necessary to be comfortable talking about your business.  That does not mean you have to learn everything there is to know about your product.  You DO NOT.  Nor does it mean you have to be able to tell someone everything you know about your company.  You should NOT.  But you do need to roll up your sleeves and recognize that you have a business in front of you.  A business that the statistics show offers a great deal of money to those who are ready to focus and work.

The multi level marketing statistics suggest the trend for the industry is positive and continuing to grow.  Now it’s up to you to take the action.
